Here is a simple and delicious recipe for Kofta, a popular Middle Eastern dish made from ground meat, herbs, and spices.
1 pound ground beef or lamb
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
1 tablespoon grated ginger
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon ground coriander
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup vegetable oil
In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, onion, cilantro, parsley, ginger, garlic, cumin, coriander, turmeric, garam masala, salt, and pepper.
Mix well and form into 1-inch meatballs.
In a shallow dish, whisk together the flour and egg.
Dredge the meatballs in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Fry the meatballs in batches for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Serve hot with your favorite rice or naan bread.
